Planned Giving

About the Foundation

The Church of the Nazarene Foundation provides information and personal assistance to those who want to make the best use of what God has given them, both in providing for their own families and supporting the work of their local church or favorite ministry.

They also partner with churches and Nazarene ministries to provide gift-planning support, legacy giving materials, and professional investment management.

The ministry of the Nazarene Foundation provides you with the ability to connect your passion directly to ministry. Whether giving cash or non-cash gifts of stock, real estate, or appreciated assets, their team of professional gift planners are equipped to guide you through the giving options that are right for you. They offer a variety of services including gift annuities, endowments, giving funds, trusts, and many other planned and deferred giving options.

About Jon Twitchell

Jonathan K. Twitchell joined the Nazarene Foundation in October 2015, moving from Maine to California to serve churches and generous Nazarenes in the western U.S.

With nearly a decade of experience in planned giving, Jon has worked closely with donors on establishing charitable trusts, endowments, and gift annuities. Jon is a problem solver and is energized by helping individuals find the right solution to accomplish what God has laid on their heart. Jon enjoys preaching and teaching, and is passionate about securing future gifts that will bless the local church, helping to fulfill the mandate in Psalm 78:4 – “We… must tell a future generation the praises of the Lord.” (HCSB)

Prior to 2015, Jon served as pastor, youth pastor, and district NYI president. Additionally, Jon served for 7 years as a funeral home chaplain, and has written on topics of death and resurrection, grief, and pastoral care. His book “Presence: A Pastor’s Guide to Funerals” has been used as a seminary text, providing both theological and practical resources to pastors.

Jon and his wife Melody are graduates of Eastern Nazarene College. They enjoy baseball, traveling, and serving the church together.
